Hydra-Matic 6T70/6T75/6T80

In 2002, a collaboration between Ford and GM gave birth to the automatic transmissions 6T70, 75 and 80. Designed for General Motors branded vehicles with front-engine transverse layout (both front-wheel and all-wheel drive), they were installed to manage various performance steps, ensuring power transmission to the wheels through six speeds and an innovative “five-clutch” system.

In fact, three epicyclic gear reducers with three fixed clutches and two rotating clutches are used; this saves a lot of space compared to free-wheel models. However, thanks to electronic controls, the clutch-to-clutch concept guarantees quick and precise shifts.

Regarding performance, the Hydra-Matic 6T70 handles up to 315 horsepower and 380Nm, the 6T75 also up to 315 horsepower and a maximum torque of over 400Nm, and finally, the 6T80 takes it up a notch with 400 horsepower and 500Nm. With ECM Titanium’s calibration on this particular TCUs, you can increase performance and reduce fuel consumption by adjusting clutch management and shift patterns.

Hydra-Matic 6L45/6L50/6L80/6L90

Developed and designed in-house by General Motors for vehicles with longitudinal front engines (both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive), these 6-speed automatic transmissions, thanks to their modular design, can handle various performance variants, always ensuring an optimal ratio.

All versions share an exclusive gear configuration that allows a wider range of gear ratios compared to a traditional planetary gear automatic transmission. This allows to customize the ratio and achieving fuel savings and excellent acceleration characteristics.

In this case as well, with ECM Titanium, you can intervene in the TCU calibration, ensuring complete parameter management. Increase the performance of vehicles equipped with these transmissions and reduce fuel consumption thanks to the precise and reliable intervention of ECM Titanium.
